Since the beginning of this month, Paul Rogers has been doing illustrations to accompany the serialization of The Frozen Rabbi novel by Steve Stern. The illustrations are for Tablet, an online magazine. The story is about a nineteenth-century rabbi from a small Polish town who is encased in a block of ice and turns up in the basement freezer of a twenty-first-century Memphis home. Tablet is running daily installments of the novel over a period of nine weeks. From March 10-July 11, "Making Faces: Playful Portraits of People You Know by Hanoch Piven" will be on exhibit at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.
